Wrapping up the Weekend

It's Monday morning. And, while it's still technically the weekend for me (one of the perks of working in education...more holidays), I decided to write a re-cap of the weekend, thus far.

LOST IT FRIDAY
I have been taking notes on a post-in-progress for the past two weeks. I started entering notes into my phone in response to a sermon in late January and had been adding thoughts, examples, and verses to these notes ever since. I last added some ideas on Friday. I really hadn't taken the time to read them, and they definitely weren't in a form ready to input into a blog post.

Friday night, as I watched my son play in the bath, I decided I would go through the notes. My plan was to use them in a post for today. But, when I opened my "notes" icon, all that I had written was gone. I double and triple checked. Lost. I even checked my iPad, thinking that they may have been backed up at some point during the past two weeks. But, no notes there either.

I have lost posts before, sometimes in draft form and other times in their entirety. But, never any notes. Since I hadn't actually made sense out of them yet, I have no memory of them. So frustrating!

I do not recover well from frustration. Fortunately, once the kids were in bed, M and I were able to watch a couple of our favorite shows. We watched the most recent episode of Criminal Minds, which was creepy, but really good. And, an episode of Duck Dynasty. This show is pure craziness and makes me laugh, hard. It was the perfect end to a frustrating night.

A DIZZY SATURDAY
I woke up early Saturday morning, before 5:00 am. When I turned over, in hope of getting more comfortable, so that I could actually stay in bed, I got a rush of dizziness. This was not conducive to more sleep. So, I decided to get up.

As I walked down the hall, I found myself having trouble staying upright. I was so dizzy and leaning heavily to the right. I felt like I had just played that baseball bat game, like we used to play in youth group. You know, the one where you place your forehead on one end of bat, while the other end is placed on the ground. Then you spin and spin, keeping your head on the bat. When you're done spinning, you try and walk. I fell every time.

Fortunately for me, I didn't fall Saturday morning, and I didn't have far to walk before I could sit down. Once I was sitting, the dizziness stopped. I spent the whole day Saturday, mostly sitting, since that improved my dizzy feeling.

O spent most of Saturday laying around. He had been sick all week, and still wasn't feeling well. He and I played a couple games of "Go(ld) Fish" and, despite the colder temperatures and the sickies, the kids played outside for a bit, while I sat on the swing, wrapped in a blanket.
LOOK AT THAT FACE. SO SERIOUS.

BLOGGER SUNDAY
I woke up Sunday feeling much better. My boy was still sick, so he stayed home with M, while the girls and I headed to church. Our class is studying prayer, which I am truly enjoying! More to come on this topic later in the week.
ME AND MY GIRLS. SUCH FASHIONISTAS.
In the afternoon, I met with a new blogging friend. Her name is Rachael and her blog is Inking the Heart. She is someone I have known casually for several years, through mutual friends. She contacted me last week to ask if I would help her with some questions she had related to blogging. While I do not consider myself an expert, I am always willing to give back, since there are several people who have (and continue to) come to my assistance when I have blogging questions.

As is frequently true when I find myself in a teacher role, I often learn as much as I teach. We spent a productive two hours together, talking about blogging, one of my favorite subjects.

Also related to blogging...I received an email from Create with Joy. I am featured on the Inspire Me Monday post, as one source of inspiration for this week. I am always honored when recognized by others, especially when it is for the purpose that I work so hard to accomplish, to encourage and inspire others.

So, while this weekend started out with a some lows, it turned out pretty good in the end.

How was your weekend?
