Why I Love Summer
I am just beginning my third week of summer vacation. I do realize how fortunate I am to have the entire summer, which lasts about 8 weeks, off from work.
I haven't worked during the summer in 15 years, so sometimes I forget that there are people for who summer is just another season. For me it means...
reading
(I have finished three books in two weeks and have the fourth one waiting for me.)
trips to the zoo
building pillow forts
baking brownies at 9am
taking a morning walk with a friend
an empty sink, where the dirty dishes used to be
time with my kids
(even if a lot of it is in the car)
What are some reasons you love summer?

you are so cute. i wish I lived by you so we could hang out in the summer! I feel really lucky to have summer off too!
You are so lucky to get the summers off! Jerrod is a teacher so he feels the same way and definitely rubs it in that he can visit the lake (which is six hours away) any day of the week over the summer. So not fair. But I do love and cherish the time I get on summer evenings and the weekends!
Well, I work during the season so no baking brownies in the morning for me!
What I love the most? No traffic!! Since school is out, there are less cars on the road and my bus commute is a breeze =)
So fun! I've always wished for summers off, but it's usually the opposite for me. Summer is the busy time!
You and your family....just want to hug you guys!! Yay for Summer!! It's my favorite time of year!!! Enjoy your next few weeks!!
My parents are teachers so I grew up with it being normal for adults to have summers off too. It's weird for me now being an adult and not having the summer off! :-)
I'm so glad you are enjoying your time off so much. Honestly I have to admit that I'm kinda jealous! To read a book right now would be a rare privilege and I don't think I've ever had 8 weeks off from work. Yep, definitely jealous! Have a great summer.
