Day Two: Confusion and Carousels

Day two began with confusion - Aren't we going to the real Disneyland? - as we spent the first part of the day in California Adventure

WAITING FOR THE GATES TO OPEN
Here is our family photo from the morning. I think you can tell who was less than thrilled to be having his picture taken.

Even though we visited the carousel numerous times, we also managed to find some other rides we enjoyed and characters we love. One of our new favorite rides, in which you shoot at 3-D targets for points, centered around the movie Toy Story.

Inside California Adventure, there is a wonderful explorer play area. It was perfect place to get away from the crowds and give the kids a chance to run around and play.

O AND MY NEPHEW, T. WILDERNESS EXPLORERS.
Also by day two, we were starting to feel the stress of traveling with a large group, of ten, of varying ages. Each person presented with different preferences for rides, food, and activities. Not to mention different tolerances for the amount of walking and length of time between bathroom breaks.

However, more adults also gave us the ability to split up, providing each of us the opportunity to experience the things we wanted, at one time or another.

We took a break from the parks in the late afternoon. After a relaxing couple hours at the hotel and eating some dinner, we headed back to the real Disneyland.

O'S IDEA OF RELAXING - iPAD AND ALIENS.
The evening was filled with more carousel rides, a journey through It's a Small World (with O singing the whole way, which melted my heart), ice cream cones and fireworks. It was a fantastic end to a wonder-full day!

O SLEPT THROUGH THE FIREWORKS. STILL NOT SURE HOW THAT HAPPENED.

Just is case you missed it.
