Starts with O {Google Search Words}

I'm taking a break from my Disneyland re-cap (days one and two were posted earlier this week), to participate in a fun link-up.

Have you ever wondered how people find your blog? How often they visit or how long they stay?

One thing I didn't realize when I first started blogging, was that I would once again be looking at statistics. There is all kinds of information on pageviews, traffic sources, most popular posts, and so much more.

As a blogger, I also have the ability to see what google search terms have led a reader to me. This is one statistic I have not given much attention. I had seen other bloggers post about the interesting crazy phrases that had been used to find their blogs, which led me to be curious about my own. But, I had never really looked at them.

When this link-up was promoted, I went on the hunt for my google search words. After spending several (close to 15 minutes) navigating through my google analytics page, I finally found all the google search words that have been used to locate my blog since the beginning of February.

To my disappointment, what I found was pretty BORING. There was nothing too odd about the majority of the words/phrases used. And, for most, it was fairly obvious how the search words correlated with my posts.

THE OBVIOUS
peace it all together (duh)
peace it all together blog
peacing it all together

THE OBSCURE
golden eggs
blogger resume
garbage pail kids
squish box
being at peace with my thoughts
finding treasure in clutter blogs
am i going on vacation? yes or no?
kindergartens hard things
my baby boy is turning 5
never give up on prayer
what ties a family together

THE ODD
video lobsters together animation
had to merge into a new lane
the authors of the
each time i feel him
art
how much do people stress over missing sock
ignore the small voice

While I wasn't too surprised by many of these, I did wonder why. Was someone stressing out about a missing sock and needed validation from google that it was okay? Why would you ask google, which cannot actually predict the future, about whether or not you are going on vacation?

This also got me thinking about what types of google search words/phrases I have used. Would I show up on someone else's odd list? What about you? I wonder...

Haha that's priceless! Also when you are logged into your google account google encrypts your search so you can't see those!

The fact that someone felt the need to ask google if they should go on vacation or not makes me wonder how they will afford a vacation because surely they do not have the self confidence to be gainfully employed!

I don't get very many creative searches. I think I need to just write some crazy stuff in my blog so that people will find it doing silly searches. ;-)
